Typical Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of the Company’s quarterly financial statements, report on variances, and perform other quarterly financial reports to be provided to the Company’s Board. Prepare miscellaneous Census Bureau financial reports. Prepare corporate cash activity (eg handle book transfers, wires, and appropriately capture and reconcile daily account activity). Prepare reports on and allocate costs in the general ledger for insurance (workers compensation, general liability, builders risk, etc.) and health benefits (medical, prescription, etc.) Various other management reports and analysis (eg bank and debit fees, ATM income). General ledger and bank account reconciliations. Design and build various financial reports, edit existing financial reports, and suggest process improvements. Cash ledger maintenance. Track vendor compliance with insurance requirements and field calls from vendors. Maintain and track collections on customer damage claims due to the Company. May prepare corporate cash activity (eg handle book transfers, wires, and appropriately capture and reconcile daily account activity). May prepare the annual 401K and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) financial statements and footnotes. May manage and report on corporate cash activity (eg handle book transfers, wires, create weekly summary reports for management, and journalize activity). Preferred Credentials: Financial reporting (GAAP) and general ledger accounting experience preferred. Banking and insurance experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience: At least two (2) years in a position with responsibility for interpreting and analyzing statistical and financial information, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail OR one (1) year in a position with responsibility for interpreting and analyzing statistical and financial information, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail plus one (1) public accounting busy season. At least two (2) years in a position participating in or responsible for financial reporting OR one (1) year in a position participating in or responsible for financial reporting plus one (1) public accounting busy season. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Ability to: Consistently provide world class customer service to internal and external customers. Write and speak clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information. Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, supervisors and others. Field and prioritize different tasks, phone calls and projects. Effectively prioritize and perform a variety of simultaneous tasks in a high pressure environment, demonstrating initiative and self-direction to complete projects within expected deadlines or defined time estimates. Sit for extended periods of time. Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
