Accountant II Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) - Boise, ID Department: Financial Accounting Full Time - Days Responsibilities : Saint Alphonsus is looking for an Accountant II to join their Financial Accounting department. This person will assist with the maintenance and development of financial systems for St. Alphonsus Health System, which includes the application of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls. Areas of involvement will include financial statement preparation, budgeting, cost accounting, reimbursement, tax preparation, external and internal audits and financial systems implementation and improvement. Evaluates budget variances and prepares financial reports that meet the needs of management and external agencies. Analyzes and interprets financial data using the proper application of accounting principles, financial feasibility, or cost analysis, and recommends action to be taken. Provides duties and responsibilities in specialized accounting areas, such as Fixed Assets, statistics, reporting, taxes, cash, joint ventures. Evaluates functions and processes to improve quality and productivity as well as efficiency in time management. Prepares difficult Journal entries, maintains complex ledgers, reconciles and analyzes specific account ledgers. Provides support to the related entities of the St Alphonsus Health System. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum three (3) years accounting experience. Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of computer based financial systems. Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on word processing, database and spreadsheet programs. Public accounting or health care preferred.
